| The Ruff House... When I moved to Thermopolis I had already been working here for a year as a UPS driver travelling back and forth from Riverton. I had also been travelling to Thermopolis to teach a few dog training classes a year for the last two years. Once I was invited up to judge the 4-H dog kids. I realized that there were a lot of dogs in Thermopolis but few opportunities for training and socialization. The 4-H kids were taught in whatever yard, garage, or barn was available, so I set a 5 year goal of opening some kind of faclity. The Ruff House opened in the summer of 2010. The building I found was an old gunsmith shop on the main street, with a small yard and a few rooms that could be converted for grooming, bathing, office, and training. The place was a mess and it took 3months of cleaning and painting to get it ready. |
